Merrrry Christmas!

As some of you know when Chris and I went on our honeymoon my camera died, so I have been putting off discussing Chris and I's Christmas without pictures because that just makes it boring. But here we go anyway, because I wanted to document our first Christmas traditions...

But first here is a play by play of what we did:
On Christmas eve Chris and I slept in, which was very very nice. We slowly started our day by (Chris) cooking and (me) finishing up some last minute presents and wrapping.
At about 3pm we went to my parents for a Christmas Eve dinner. we ate there and then at 5:30 went to Chris's Grandma's house for a Christmas Eve dinner and a few games. After that we went back to my parents and watched Christmas Vacation and did a Christmas Puzzle.
We than went to Chris's Mom's house and spent the night there so we could do Christmas morning with his family. We woke up a little before 7 and opened presents. Chris's mom got us a camera!! very exciting. Chris got me a cricut and I got chris new computer speakers and WOW (World of War craft, for those of us that didn't know what that stood for). We then headed home and took a nap and then got ready and went to my moms at 10 and opened presents there. My mom got me seasons one through fourteen, and season twenty of The Simpsons which was just AWESOME! We ate breakfast and then all got in the car and went to my Grandma Cook's.
There we ate lunch and did the family exchange and surprise, surprise our family got The Simpsons scene it! we are very excited; very fitting if you ask me. Chris and I then got in the car and went to his grandma's house and had dinner and just hung out for a little bit and then went home and we both were playing with our new toys. Then at about 7 we went to my parents house and played a game called "Word on the Street" girls against boys which was way fun, but then Ella got upset and the games were brought to an end.
On Sunday we went to Chris's Doxey side and had an ugly sweater party which was a blast!! There Chris's aunt had a great idea of having a pasta bar, instead of ham and potatoes! It was way good!
All in all the festivities were a lot of fun, but were not done yet. Thursday Chris and I are going to get on a plane and head down to Texas to visit his Dad's family for a week.
Now I wanted to run down some of the things that Chris and I did for our traditions and maybe get some ideas for when we have kids and it really counts..
I started out by making Chris and I some stockings. They looked like this

for our "Santa" presents to each other. The presents from Santa were wrapped in wrapping paper that had pictures of Santa's on it. Growing up we never had our Santa presents wrapped but I thought it would make it more exciting.

We also had Christmas Eve pajamas that we unwrapped and wore. (Chris hated his... I tried though).

That's about all of the Christmas festivities so far. I will let you know how Houston goes, maybe take some pictures with our new camera!

Have you ever...

Have you ever had a dream about your boss and then when you have to go to work and face them you are embarrassed?

Or have you ever had a dream about your husband and then wake up and you are still mad about whatever happened in your dream, even though you know it is just a dream?

... more specifically have you ever dreamed that there is a zombie attack and your wife/husband just got bite and you have to kill them and wake up and tell them and then have THEM be mad at you for the rest of the day even though they know it was just a dream? ... no...?

well this happened to Chris and I this weekend. It's not very fun waking up in your husbands arms and him whispering in your ear as you wake up "I shot you in the head in my dream, because you were being dumb and were standing in the front window and got bit by a zombie."

Thanks babe.

A long time ago...

So a while ago I was going through my pictures and I found a folder that I wanted Chris to put in our wedding video, but I guess that he "forgot," but these pictures mean a lot to me so I thought that I would post them.

Here is Chris and I on our trip we took to the French Country
to the cute little cottage.
Here is Chris and I on our Alaskan Cruise. THAT'S AN ICE BERG!!
Here is Chris and I whale watching.

Here is Chris and I on our African safari. We watched that zebra get wasted!

Here is Chris and I on our trip to coast. To bad it was such awful weather.

This is Chris and I at school together. Its a nice little school in England called Hogwarts.

This is Chris and I's trip to area51.
THEY WERE DOING NUCLEAR TESTING THAT DAY.

And lastly:
Here is Chris and I's trip to the moon.
We had to hold our breathe for the picture.

That was all! Hope you enjoyed!!

Yesterday

So yesterday Chris and I were asked to speak about tender mercies of the Lord since we are new to the ward. It wasn't nearly as terrifying as I thought that it would be, but to my surprise I ended my talk by bearing my testimony and got a little choked up. I usually am a stone cold fish who doesn't show emotion. Apparently I just love Chris SOOO much.

The funny part about giving our talks was that the youth speaker who spoke before me went for about 5 minutes and then we sang and I spoke for about 5 min. That means that Chris had to speak for just a mere 30 MINUTES.. poor Chris. It was really nice speaking with him though! I have spoken in sacrament before and I was always super nervous and wanted to just run away but it was a lot more easier with my hubby by my side holding my hand reassuring me the whole way through. I am so grateful for him.

It was kinda fun because both Chris and my parents came and listened to us. It was nice having my parents in the audience giving me the thumbs up and smiling big at me:) sometimes I wish I wasn't an adult and I got to do little kiddy things all the time... I miss not having to wake up and having my parents just excuse my absence at school... those were the days...

Halloween

For Halloween, I decided (after stealing the idea from {cousin}) I decided to be this guy! I unfortunately didn't get any pictures of the event buuut for those of you who know my pa, all he wears on his days off during the colder seasons, is a grey sweater, jeans and tennis shoes or hicking boots. Soooo I wore a grey sweater and jeans and hiking boots and went over to my paretns house on Saturday and went to my dad and asked "guess who I am for Halloween?" He looked me up and down and said "Me?" "YUP!!" o, man it was great! (warm too!!)
Love ya dad!

My Great Weekend!

So this weekend was very eventful!

let's rewind to Friday... not much was done on Friday so Chris and I just sat home and watched different shows that we have on DVD (this weekend we finished the"the 4400" series). Chris worked on a school project and I crocheted little baby booties and a baby hat. (there is a picture coming)

Saturday Chris and I went to walmart for different crafty things for Chris's school project. Can I just say how much I like this school project Chris is working on because than Chris goes to craft stores with me AND I don't feel guilty for buying yarn or buttons for my little projects. And then it happened.....

I had my melt down, for no apparent reason I got upset and started a bawling fit. During this Chris asked me if there was anything that he could do for me to make me feel not so stressed.... with tear filled eyes, I asked "Can I bring Minnie home?"

Sunday was My father's birthday and Chris and I's 2 Month anniversary. After eating dinner with our family for my dad's birthday, Chris and I went home with Minnie in a card board "pet carrier" (although it was a lot harder and scarier than just driving home, more like having a rabid wild raccoon in a box full of dried meat on your lap) we got home and Chris and I have now taken on the title of pet owners! I just am so happy now that Minnie is here with me at my new home, I just hope that after she has been in one home for 11 years she will be ok with the idea of starting a new life here for the next couple months and then at our new home the beginning of spring... We shall see..

*** ya wanna know how things turned out our first night as a family?!****

Well Chris and I brought her home and she immediately ran under our bed and was there to stay. So I decide to stay up with Chris because lately I can't sleep without him (soo cute... gag me). However, at 11 I had all I could handle and went to bed with Minnie underneath our bed and fell fast asleep for about an hour when Chris came in.

At this point I think that Minnie said to herself, "everything is quiet and dark, its ok for me to come out and 'explore'"... I say "explore" because what ended up happening was NOT what I would call exploring. She proceeded to jumping up on my nightstand getting in our window, jumping back on my night stand, running around on our bed, going to chris's night stand, jumping up on our dresser, then jumping three feet on to our bed ON TOP OF CHRIS and then running across our pillows and starting over. This continuted. All. Night. Long.

I thought maybe she wanted to get out and explore the rest of her new home, so I opened our bedroom door WIDE open and went and got a "glass of water" for myself. (really I just took a swig of sprite from the bottle, I just wanted to sound healthy). When I turned around to see if Minnie had come out to explore she just stood at the door and just coward. When I went to pass her to go back to bed she ran as fast as she could under the bed and coward until I laid down, than she started all over again with the jumping around.

This continued until around 6am when all the sudden it got very very quiet, naivly Chris and I used this chance to get an hour of sleep and when our alarms went off we reluctantly got out of bed. That's when I asked it: "where's Minnie"... we didn't know. She wasn't under the bed. so I went to the living room, I thought that she was behind the TV... I kept calling her and couldn't find her. I had no idea where she went until I heard a little tiny scared meow from INSIDE our heating duct. F my life... I found where she had be hiding and it took Chris and I an hour and two cans of wet cat food to coax her out (I called in late for work and when I told my supervisor what was happening she just laughted...)

I called my dad and told him what happened his response: "Ashley wait, let me put you on speaker phone and I want you to tell me about your night one more time so mom can hear." I told them and they both started laughing. You guys this isn't funny, we are very very tired, this just is not humorus in anyway!

After this Chris and I both were very exhausted and had no patience so we (chris excitedly, I reluctantly) packed up all of Minnie's things and her and took her back to my parents.

While at my mom's to drop Minnie off my mom said, "you should talk to Danielle about not getting any sleep and being tired, since she has to take care of Ella all night." ....Chris and I will never reproduce. This is awful.

This is the story of how Chris and I were pet owners for 12 hours.
