Little house on the prairie...

This is a post that have been meaning to post for A VERY LONG LONG TIME! So the beginning of this year Chris and I broke ground on our first home together (we didn't break the ground ourselves... in case you were confused). But I have been taking pictures of our little home week by week so we could document the growth of our home. so I thought that I would post them....
Week 1
[this is our fine fine hole]

There is a lot of dirt on our property because when they dug the hole for the house next to use, they put their dirt on our property...

[our hole again]

Week 2

[we have a foundation]

Week 3

the only thing that happend during week three is our foundation dried... and to the enjoyment of watching cement dry... I didn't take any pictures.

Week 4

[we got one wall, a floor and our basement framed!]

Week 5

[bam we have a house, that fast]

[our garage from the entry door][the garage entry from the garage steps][this is our family room]

[do a 180 and here is the kitchen, the pantry is framed]

[what it looks like from the front door]

[living room, right off the front door]

[half bathroom and closet]

[and the upstairs... but the stairs have not been installed yet]

[and this is in our garage, microwave and hot plate (not included with our house**sad face**)]

this is all I feel like posting right now... I got this far and got bored and realized that this was a very long boring post... but I wanted to have this to look back on. Maybe I will finish later.

Liar Liar Pants on Fire...

Hanging on a Telephone Wire..

Do you remember this saying? Well Chris and I were having an intellectual discussion about it. My whole life I had envisioned this type of a scenario..
I told Chris this and he thought that it was always this...

Either way we agreed that for lying have your pants lit on fire while on your body and you are hanging from a telephone wire OR taken from you lit on fire and thrown too high for you to do anything about it is a bit harsh for lying...

Guilt Pleasures....

Here is a list of things that I love that I am embarrassed to say that I do... now's the time to swallow my pride and just let everyone know.

I love singing as loud as possible while driving.. I used to do it and then stop if I was at a stop light or something, no matter how good the song was. Now I don't care where I am, I just belt it.. is that even the right term

Is it bad that I really want to buy this book and use it everyday of my life?

I love watching iCarly... I can't even justify why I love this show. I just do!

I have a "blanket." It is a disgusting thing that I can't sleep without. It is tattered and falling apart but I love it. I thought that when I got married I would just throw it away, but when I went to my parents house to get it to throw it away, it "accidentally" ended up in our bed and I sleep with it every night. Chris hates it because it leaves little bits of yucky fabrics everywhere...

I love picking at things. When I'm bored or nervous I will scratch the inside of my ears until sometimes they bleed. Sometimes when I run out of things to pick at, I will pick at Chris and he hates it... but when I find something to pick at, if I just leave it there and not pick it I have anxiety. I am a disgusting human being.

I like watching "Confessions Animal Hording" on Animal Plant Surprisingly Human Because deep down I relate to all those people. I would only hoard cute pets though, like cats and dogs, I just love to cuddle their soft fur.

That's all I can think of right now. When I lay it out like that I realize that I am a very strange person. Makes me wonder how I ever convinced Chris to marry me, poor guy!

Merrrry Christmas!

As some of you know when Chris and I went on our honeymoon my camera died, so I have been putting off discussing Chris and I's Christmas without pictures because that just makes it boring. But here we go anyway, because I wanted to document our first Christmas traditions...

But first here is a play by play of what we did:
On Christmas eve Chris and I slept in, which was very very nice. We slowly started our day by (Chris) cooking and (me) finishing up some last minute presents and wrapping.
At about 3pm we went to my parents for a Christmas Eve dinner. we ate there and then at 5:30 went to Chris's Grandma's house for a Christmas Eve dinner and a few games. After that we went back to my parents and watched Christmas Vacation and did a Christmas Puzzle.
We than went to Chris's Mom's house and spent the night there so we could do Christmas morning with his family. We woke up a little before 7 and opened presents. Chris's mom got us a camera!! very exciting. Chris got me a cricut and I got chris new computer speakers and WOW (World of War craft, for those of us that didn't know what that stood for). We then headed home and took a nap and then got ready and went to my moms at 10 and opened presents there. My mom got me seasons one through fourteen, and season twenty of The Simpsons which was just AWESOME! We ate breakfast and then all got in the car and went to my Grandma Cook's.
There we ate lunch and did the family exchange and surprise, surprise our family got The Simpsons scene it! we are very excited; very fitting if you ask me. Chris and I then got in the car and went to his grandma's house and had dinner and just hung out for a little bit and then went home and we both were playing with our new toys. Then at about 7 we went to my parents house and played a game called "Word on the Street" girls against boys which was way fun, but then Ella got upset and the games were brought to an end.
On Sunday we went to Chris's Doxey side and had an ugly sweater party which was a blast!! There Chris's aunt had a great idea of having a pasta bar, instead of ham and potatoes! It was way good!
All in all the festivities were a lot of fun, but were not done yet. Thursday Chris and I are going to get on a plane and head down to Texas to visit his Dad's family for a week.
Now I wanted to run down some of the things that Chris and I did for our traditions and maybe get some ideas for when we have kids and it really counts..
I started out by making Chris and I some stockings. They looked like this

for our "Santa" presents to each other. The presents from Santa were wrapped in wrapping paper that had pictures of Santa's on it. Growing up we never had our Santa presents wrapped but I thought it would make it more exciting.

We also had Christmas Eve pajamas that we unwrapped and wore. (Chris hated his... I tried though).

That's about all of the Christmas festivities so far. I will let you know how Houston goes, maybe take some pictures with our new camera!

Have you ever...

Have you ever had a dream about your boss and then when you have to go to work and face them you are embarrassed?

Or have you ever had a dream about your husband and then wake up and you are still mad about whatever happened in your dream, even though you know it is just a dream?

... more specifically have you ever dreamed that there is a zombie attack and your wife/husband just got bite and you have to kill them and wake up and tell them and then have THEM be mad at you for the rest of the day even though they know it was just a dream? ... no...?

well this happened to Chris and I this weekend. It's not very fun waking up in your husbands arms and him whispering in your ear as you wake up "I shot you in the head in my dream, because you were being dumb and were standing in the front window and got bit by a zombie."

Thanks babe.
